Kelly Ann Shank’s professional passions include geriatric, palliative and hospice care. As an Adult Nurse Practitioner at ProHealth Partners, she provides home-based primary care services for seniors in the Toledo area. She also works as a Nurse Practitioner at Great Lakes Caring Home Health and Hospice

But she doesn’t stop there.

With over 22 years of practice under her belt, Kelly has a lot of knowledge to share. She precepts advanced practice nurses for multiple programs and is an instructor for the American Heart Association’s CPR, first-aid, and childhood communicable disease programs.

Kelly encourages her students and colleagues to break out of their comfort zones, noting that “change can be uncomfortable, but that’s what makes [us] better clinicians.” She often recommends taking a new class or joining a committee, and she takes her own advice, too.

She’s actively involved with the Ohio Association of Advanced Practice Nurses. A former Chapter Leader and Regional Director, Kelly was recently elected President of the organization’s Board of Directors. She serves on the Government Relations Committee and chairs the Board Development Committee and the Preceptor Task Force. She also developed and leads the planning team for the annual Northwest Ohio OAAPN Conference.

And because she’s an unstoppable force of nature, Kelly was recently selected as a fellow for the Duke-Johnson & Johnson Nurse Leadership Program. This one-year professional development experience is a partnership between Duke University School of Medicine, Duke University School of Nursing and Johnson & Johnson.

She holds a bachelor’s degree from Ursuline College and a Master’s of Science in Nursing as an Adult Nurse Practitioner from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. While Kelly has received many accolades throughout her career, she defines success as being able to “provide comfort, inspire and teach” while balancing – “most days, anyway” – her life as a mom, wife and Nurse Practitioner.

We’re thrilled to have her on the ProHealth Partners team!
