If you’ve experienced a heart attack or other cardiac event, it’s important to know that recovering from it is a team effort.
Assistance from a dedicated team of medical professionals and support from loved ones will make sure your cardiac rehabilitation plan stays on track. And getting that help in the comfort of your own home will further help you reach your goals in recovery, especially if mobility is an issue.
Cardiac rehab is designed to improve the heart health of those who have experienced a heart attack, heart surgery, angioplasty or heart failure. ProHealth Partners helps many heart attack survivors throughout Ohio and southeast Michigan on their road to recovery with our dedicated, experienced team of in-home physical therapists.
Our therapists create a customized cardiac rehabilitation program that includes the following components:
- Exercise: Get your heart pumping stronger with body movements that promote cardiac health, such as aerobic exercises and resistance band or weight training.
- Education: Learn about the factors that led to your heart attack and how you can manage them moving forward. These factors may include tobacco use, activity levels and diet.
- Counseling: Stress isn’t good for your heart. We can help you deal with stress in a healthy way, lessening the toll it takes on both your heart and your mind.
ProHealth’s in-home physicians and therapists will work with your cardiologist to customize your rehabilitation program with the goal of returning you to your normal daily activities.
You’ll come away from the program with a better understanding of your cardiac health and how exercise, stress and diet play into your recovery.
