Industrial Services

An industrial worker holds a box.Transitional Work-Site Therapy

When work restrictions are ordered following a workplace injury, we will provide on-site, job-specific therapeutic work activities to help an injured worker’s full-duty return to work. Our therapies include training in safe practices, job modification, progressive conditioning, consultation with all parties involved, and periodic re-assessment of restrictions.

This service applies to physically-demanding jobs wherein we impartially screen workers post-offer for pre-existing conditions that could lead to on-the-job injuries and claims, assess functional abilities and compatibility relating to the job description, recommend injury-preventative exercises, and train employees in appropriate lifting practices.

Workability Injury Assessment

These assessments are often performed on a referral-basis when a worker is having difficulty with transitional work duties, has not progressed to full-duty within the anticipated amount of time, or a physician will not release them to modified transitional work duties. This service is performed at the job-site during acute or sub-acute stage of recovery and used to assess a worker’s ability taking into account the job demands and potential need for transitional therapy or work in order to return to full-duty without prolonged delay. Our assessment includes:

• Review of operational job demands, subjective complaints, and conditions of the claim
• Assessment of objective findings in support of the allowances of the claim
• Analysis of restrictions in place regarding lifting, dexterity, and agility

 Outpatient Clinic Therapy

This service is provided to workers during the acute and sub-acute phase of recovery from an occupational accident at a convenient outpatient facility or clinic, where the injured worker can feel comfortable during the recovery process.

The purpose of an ergonomic program is to adapt the workplace to a specific worker, dependent on the job description, required tasks, and physical make-up of the employee performing those tasks. Our therapist can analyze the effect of injury on the worker’s job performance and identify physical qualifications for safe job performance; establish risks that might lead to work-related musculoskeletal disorders; and suggest modifications that will enable the worker to perform their job safely and efficiently within those suggestions.

Job Modification Assistance

This service combines state-of-the-art tools and technology, combined with what our therapists know about the human body, recommend changes or remove physical obstacles that will improve safety and productivity in the workplace, assist in an injured worker’s return to work, and ultimately saving the employer money.

Functional Capacities Evaluation (FCE)A doctor gives a patient a comprehensive evaluation.

This is a comprehensive physical assessment of an individual's ability to perform work-related activity. All evaluations are videotaped, and copies are provided to necessary parties. The evaluation assists our therapists in determining:

•   Rehabilitation goals and readiness for discharge
•   Return to work status (including full-duty, modified/transitional duty)
•   Total and/or partial disability
•   Assessment of physical abilities as part of a job search (for pre-employment/post-offer testing)
•   Claim allowances and settlement
