This system is not traditional Chinese acupuncture, but rather a western medical modality of treatment. Dry Needling is based on modern understanding of human anatomy and pathophysiology derived from modern scientific research. The Multi-System Approach uses Dry Needling techniques to the musculoskeletal system, the central nervous system, the endocrine system, the immune system, the cardiovascular system, and the lymphatic system. It is performed by skilled clinicians to help increase range of motion, decrease pain, normalize blood and lymphatic circulation, and restore the body to a more desirable state of homeostasis. Of course, there are several different techniques to affect the various systems. Each technique is performed as determined necessary by the physical therapist.
