ProHealth Partners Outpatient Therapy:

Pierce Chronic Pain with Dry Needling  outpatient-locations

Musculoskeletal complaints are one of the most common conditions for which people seek professional and medical attention, often caused by Trigger Points -  irritable spots within taut bands of skeletal muscle. ProHealth Partners Outpatient Facility therapists offer a specialized evaluation process to assess all of the body's interrelated systems and incorporate the most highly researched treatment systems that address all aspects of a patient's injury or disease, including Trigger Points.

Some practitioners report that trigger points are the most commonly missed diagnosis in chronic pain patients. They are painful on deep palpation and can cause referred pain and reduced range of motion. For the last 30 years, more and more western practitioners are incorporating Dry Needling, a procedure that uses solid filament needles, similar to those used in acupuncture. The needles are inserted directly to trigger points without the use of injection. Dry Needling is based on modern understanding of human anatomy and pathophysiology derived from modern scientific research.

Unlike acupuncdry-needlingture, the gauge of the needles varies depending on the part of the body being treated and is intended to control pain in the musculoskeletal system. Other benefits of Dry Needling include increased range of motion, normalized blood and lymphatic circulation, and restoring the body to a desirable state of homeostasis.

ProHealth Partners uses a Multi-system Approach when it comes to treating our patients, which explores all the interrelated systems of the body to evaluate all musculoskeletal issues. Dry needling is one of the medical modalities of treatment used in conjunction with traditional exercise and other systems and techniques to address our patients’ complaints and return them to good health.
